Youth Basketball

Welcome to Youth Basketball 2018! We look forward to cultivating a rewarding and fun program, building skills that translate to other sports and everyday life.

• Registration Dates: August 20 to September 10
• Fee: $40.00 per Participant
• Grades: 2-3
• Grades: 4-5/6 (Any 6th Grader who is NOT playing Middle School Basketball)
• Register: Online at www.wrangellrec.com or at the Pool Office

• Regular Season Dates: September 17 - October 18
• Practice: TBA, but will start the week of September 17
• End of Season Tournament: 10/16 + 10/18
• All Star Practice and Skills + Drills: 10/22 - 11/8
• Petersburg Tentative ALL STAR Tournament Dates: 11/10
• Wrangell Tentative ALL STAR Tournament Dates: 11/17

ATTENTION PARENTS/GUARDIANS! In order to establish a volunteer schedule, please indicate your volunteer preference. Check below for details.

NOTE: The success of the Youth Basketball program depends heavily on the spirit of volunteerism. Parents and guardians play a crucial role, ensuring we have enough people to coach, ref and keep score. If we all work together, we can maintain a reasonable volunteer schedule that works for everyone.

• Date: Tuesday, September 11th
• Time: 6:00-7:00 pm
• Location: Community Center Gym
• Fundamental Stations: Players rotate between 4 Station (Free-Throws, Dribbling, Lay-Ups & Passing)
• Coaches: All Coaches for the current season will lead the stations
• ***COACHES MEETING TO FOLLOW***
• Time: 7:00-8:00 pm
• Location: Multi-Purpose Room
• Agenda: Team Selection, Practice Days & Times, Coaches Packet

• Grades: 4-5/6 (6th Graders NOT Playing Middle School Basketball)
• Date: Wednesday, September 12th
• Time: 6:00-7:00 pm
• Location: Community Center Gym

• Coaches: All Coaches for the current season will lead the stations
